Swick is really a lawyer...? Really...?
How can he possibly say something like this?
1. His statement isn't true on its face: the boards are very carefully controlled, at all times, as a matter of both course and policy.
2. It isn't possible to "stick" to "guidelines" that are totally mobile and open to exceptionally wide and loose interpretations.
Look, let's not play games, here. The Collector's Society is administered by a company with a guiding philosophy that does not tolerate criticism, utterly regardless of merit, of A. NGC/CGC/CCS/PMG, B. themselves, C. other members, or D. much of anything else that offends them as people.
It's hopelessly foolish and naive to think that those boards aren't, in fact, completely controlled as to the substance, content, and message of discussions, both on a professional AND a personal level.
It's just pure foolishness.
What the hell does Swick think "deletion" IS....? And "occasional"? The boards have content deleted from them on a daily basis...and not spam, or errant sales threads...substantive posts are deleted on a daily basis.
Sometimes, I think these people get free subs for saying these things.

By the way..."Jesse O" at the CBCS board has made things personal. I know things won't change, but moderators taking things personally is precisely why the CGC board is the pit that it is.
So, if you've ever wondered where it starts, that's it: when a moderator makes an issue personal, like they've done with Stu.
That is when you need to be fired and replaced.
This isn't rocket science, and yet, here we are.
If you cannot be objective, if you become personally involved in issues affecting you as a moderator, you lose any effectiveness you might have had.

I honestly have no idea how JesseO became a Mod on the CBCS board. He doesn't take things as personally as Tim Bildhauser, but he also seems to have no clue. From our PMs I don't think he's ever been on a comics chatboard before, just Facebook. He seems to have no credentials whatsoever. The actions he's taken are petty and as mentioned personal (butthurt). CBCS should give Jesse and Tim less power and give TheWatcher more.

The Watcher is a nice guy.
He'd fit in well over here.

Watcher really is a cool guy. He used to be in the WC a lot, but has slumped off since CBCS got their "forum" going.
