Hey, why not...? Here's a video of SCV in 1991. I'm in there, somewhere. We got 4th, but we should have gotten 3rd. Stupid Phantom. Anyhoo, this was when I was young, in shape, and young. PS. It's NOT "marching band." Enjoy! |

I should post some pics of Mr. Royer from my high school year books for you. Dude. THAT would be AWESOME. SCV was his life. He died within 6 months of his last show (he died in, I think, Feb or Mar of '93, last show was Finals in 1992.) There was a video on YouTube with Gail directing us playing "Send In The Clowns" after Finals, but apparently SCV made a copyright claim on that, and it got removed. Lame. It was pretty tough getting through that. There were quite a few tears. Of course, we didn't know that he'd be dead shortly thereafter. I got to play in the very last Clowns directed by Gail.  |

I'll dig around and see what I can find.
Someone once mistakenly sent me a bunch of photos of him through Facebook because they thought I was in the music program (I wasn't - I was just in a rock band), but I deleted the account.

The choreography of that is really cool. How does one direct that group or even practice? Is it counting footsteps and changing direction based on the music notes?
