Of course. I suspect many do the same. ...When they return those "new" "NM/M" books that arrived damaged

I totally miss ordering pizzas to the people across the street. I Never did that, but I get it! There were a bunch of us kids in our project that all went to the same grade school...sometimes we'd plan it to score pizza. Most parents just bought the pizza and we'd mosey on by..hahahaha

I visited my folks while they were stationed on Kwajalein Island. All the food was shipped in by boat. Sometimes shipping containers would be compromised and food would spoil during the long ocean travel. It would usually acquire a unique smell; they called it "Kwajy". If it went undetected when unloaded from the barge and stocked in the PX, you could always tell when you brought it home and opened it. "Kwajy." One of those distinctive smells you never forget.

Tonight I am making kebobs. Marinated top round overnight in some stuff: oil, soy, Worcestershire, Dijon mustard, garlic, onion powder, black pepper, something else I cannae remember... cut up some onions & peppers into chunks, got some mixed mini potatoes, and I'mma grill them all up in about an hour. Question Of The Day, Food Edition: do you kebob with your food all mixed up like the pics, and therefore have terrible food on some end of the spectrum, or do you do it correctly, with each food getting it's own skewer? The first way is pretty, but you end up over-cooking the meat or under-cooking the veg most of the time. The second way, everything cooks in it's own time-frame - the mini-potatoes will still take the longest, then the meat, then the onions & peppers. I do mix the onions & peppers because of similar cooking time, and it is more pleasing to the eye. But otherwise, all else gets cooked separately by me.

The staple of British school dinner menus. Well, until the word "dick" became rude...
