Legit question.
The first batch I received of the new slabs had several that looked like the scan below. Notice a white or discolored line that runs vertically along the right side of the book. At first I thought it was my scanner, but then realized it's the an outline of the micro-chamber paper inside the the book.
In hand it's very easy to see and on the DD 37 below you can even make out the actual corner and top edge of the paper as well. It shows up much better on darker covers. There is a tiny void at the edge of the paper where the cover stock falls down away from the mylar (or mylar and cover away from the slab).
I have a genuine question that bridges both topics.
I've heard of books being pressed with people forgetting to remove the microchamber paper from the books, leaving an impression on the book where the microchamber paper was.
Will the pressure by these new cases create a similar problem when microchamber paper is used in the new holder?
