In my memory, a man is walking on a construction site when the board he is walking on gives way. he plummets into the darkness and hears things moving in the dark. He turns on a flashlight , but that doesn't help him see out but allows them to see him and monstrous scaly arms with clawed hands ripped at his arms . he wakes up , thinks it's a dream and goes to the site but then falls in as before... Let me know if you recognize!!! I also had a giant sized horror comic that had a hanged man on the cover, but nbot the common one (crime IU think the main one is) but this one was more lurid with an eye dangling out.
