How did I change the subject? You conflated a woman's right to choose with US slavery, effectively changing the subject.
I went along with it and since you're a "defender of life" I assumed you weren't the typical R and actually care about human beings after they're born and not just before.
You know..."thoughts and prayers" and "bootstraps", right?

The only reason people "owned" slaves is that they convinced themselves that the person they "owned" wasn't quite fully human, not quite as human as they were. They had many reasons to convince themselves that slaves weren't as human as THEY were, that slaves didn't quite deserve the same human dignity that THEY claimed for themselves. And so it goes with all sorts of human atrocities, from slavery to genocide to abortion to aztec child sacrifice to common-day rape and murder. First dehumanize that which you have power over, then you can do any inhuman acts on it that you want. Serial killers admit the same mentality - dehumanize the victim and it makes it so much easier to mutilate and murder. ETA: grammar Interesting choice to put "owned" in quotes. Not sure you're smart enough to realize the implication...at least I hope you're not. |

I brought it back in to say that any form of dehumanizing another is not "freedom" and gave another example that you might give some thought to. But you replied only about the pregnant woman and utterly ignored the child being dehumanized and killed. In fact, you ignored the whole post. So here it is again, bolded for emphasis: Defend human life - yes I went there. Why won't you?
What choice was Gianna Jessen given when she was aborted?
Or Claire Culwell when she was aborted?
Or the thousands of other humans who were aborted yet survived their attempted murder? |

We can have a philosophical debate on if abortion is murder. I do not consider it murder and you do.
In the US it is still legal in most states and will likely continue long after we are both gone. Hey, maybe you can join up with MTG and be part of the national divorce.
