In case you hadn't heard, a deeply troubled psychologist (forgive my redundancy) in Canada named Jordan Peterson is being held accountable for his inflammatory comments by the body which governs the conduct of his magical profession. His outrageous online behavior, includes, but is not limited to, obscene name-calling and suggesting someone commit suicide. Details and his actual online comments here: ottawacitizen.com/news/canada/read-jordan-petersons-tweets-that-prompted-complaints-to-psychologists-college/wcm/7ce46c37-65f9-4f6a-b6f1-c15f96655192While I truly feel sorry for any thinking conservative (again, forgive what would ideally be my redundancy) who defends this ape's conduct, I don't disagree with all of his opinions, and ultimately feel pity for him. What he failed to take into proper account is that when you have a fake job in an area of magic like psychology, you're vulnerable to your fellow witch doctors and their need not to have too much attention aimed at the dubious nature of their ball-gazing and other mystical doings. See, if you have a REAL job - brain surgeon, plumber, dry cleaner, garbage man - people are kind of forced to put up with your raving, because what are they going to do? If your toilet's backing up & the only person available to fix it is a Flat Earther who wants all puppies put to sleep, you're going to grin & bear it rather than start crapping in your flower pots. But when you're an actor, politician, or some head shrinker who wants to know why babies are so damn racist, you're in perpetual danger of cancellation. Or in the case of this nutty Freud fanboi (that redundancy again!), a bit of a refresher course in how not to come across as an angry asshat with little if any self control. I would encourage those of all political persuasions to check this guy out, but if you're conservatively inclined, you may want to consider whether dying on this particular crazy hill way out on the cold Canadian prairie makes any sense. xox, Zod

You must not be Canadian, as there's not much wrong with what he's saying...it's just not liked by some.

You must not be Canadian, as there's not much wrong with what he's saying...it's just not liked by some. Zod is from the Great White North of Krypton. The problem JP is facing is that while being an angry asshat with no self-control is fine (Zod has seen much of this in the GWN), behaving as he has while certified by this particular professional organization is not. He's quite lucky to have been given this chance for education in basic decency, as there was certainly ample cause to just bounce his crazy ass out of the group. Having opinions is one thing, and a few of his have merit, but as a psychologist, you don't encourage suicide, and you don't rave and swear like a barking madman. But true to form, this guy - or should Zod say *that guy* - is crapping all over this second chance to be an adult. Don't be that guy, people, and don't die on that guy's messed up hill.

People are indeed allowed to be frustrated, and he over most had reason to be. All that to say, I've seen worse.

But here's the thing my brother in Burns-love: If you're the chick dressed as Snow White on the Disney float & you start drinking out of a Jack bottle and screaming "I lost my ing virginity when I was 12, es!," you're going to be permanently escorted out of the park. End of story. This guy's not a martyr, he's a jerk crapping all over a generously offered second chance. If he's experiencing the national symptom of tightly coiled frustration, he can sign up for an anonymous account here, where his raving lunacy will be right at home, and warmly welcomed.

I still like him a lot. I might drive up to Ottawa to see him end of the month. You should drive down! Have a Guinness at least if you can't stomach the lecture

If he were a stand up comic or pundit - which is what he's been shooting for I guess - I'd have no issue with him. You just can't do what he did and then play the victim; he's playing games now & just needs to quit & pursue his new career.

What you're saying is that his personal opinion should not be made public because of his professional career? I'm saying he can join drunken Snow White in the unemployment line. He repeatedly & grossly violated the known standards of his profession. And now he's being a dishonest little about it. Zod does understand that this appeals to a certain demographic, however.

You're saying he's already guilty of "repeatedly & grossly" violating the known standards of his profession. Who has found him guilty?

Looks like pretty soon we'll all be in Reeducation Camps! Is the government re-educating JP? In a camp? Or is he a professional who repeatedly & grossly violated the standards of his profession? And is he being given a second chance to redeem himself by the board governing his conduct despite not deserving one? Dying on this hill? Really bad look, guys.

I'm actually starting to feel sorry for you... I think you're missing my point because your missing the logic. He hasn't actually been "found guilty". He's been accused. He's been "found guilty" in the court of public opinion, and it seems yours as well. And I personally think that one of the reasons he's dragging this out publicly is to specifically either show that he is being "found guilty" (sarcasm) by the court of public appeal without a fair trial, or that his accuser's motives aren't pure. Much like often happens with cancel culture.

Much like often happens with cancel culture. We're definitely missing the logic where you're concerned, yes, and this appears to be an intractable situation. Your guilty comment was what I referring to as ridiculous. Of course he hasn't been found guilty, and his own conduct condemns him. He's miserably failed to uphold the minimum standards of his profession, but he's too much of an attention-seeking manbaby to take his medicine, and prefers to whine and rant to his ravenous outrage audience. That you would view his ridiculous trolling as somehow admirable or heroic is not surprising of course. I'm sure he'll do fine in his second career as a clapter-inducing "comedian" and outrage spokesmodel; maybe you & David can meet up at one of his shows.
