Being a Zod-like presence here on your planet & comic book forum, I'm frequently asked a lot of questions about issues ranging from best parenting practices to whether kneeling is good for your health.
So as a public service, I wanted to start a thread which will allow people to ask me about anything they'd like cleared up.
For instance:
Are cats better than dogs?
Would it be impolite to smack that little kid shrieking in my favorite high-end restaurant as I'm trying to eat my Whopper?
Is Zod the posting name of Bob Overstreet or The Rock?
Should I be sad that I'm STILL not going to get those Batman Underoos I've wanted since Xmas of 1978?

This racist bullying has caused me to become depressed.

Why is there so much butthurt on comic forums?
I've been to other forums & they are nothing like the butthurt levels of comic forums.
What is it about comic forums that draws the butthurted?
And typically the more butthurt, the less talk about comics.

It's good to see I have some less peculiar fans up in Canada.
Not that Zod is judging mind you! 
You ask an excellent question, and while I don't really have answers, I think we can reflect on the many facets of the butthurt, and over several replies.
The first observation I'd like to make is reality vs expectations.
The very first internet forum Zod ever posted on was a comic book forum, and Dear Zod the butthurt! 
One of the reasons Zod posts here - true story! - is that he noticed someone here who rises above the butthurt, and that's Woogieman.
Anyone who's interacted with him on the net or in person will tell you he's just one of the nicest guys in what old farts call "the hobby."
Zod sometimes wonders - in the midst of the butthurt hurricanes - why there aren't more posters/people like Woogie out there.
When Zod first posted on that first forum, he was expecting mostly Woogies - a bunch of friendly nerds arguing about who was the truer friend to Supes, Jimmy or Lois.
But instead...
Torrents of toxic butthurt.
Zod doesn't really have an answer as to WHY something which could be so much fun so often isn't, but he did want to make this observation about the shock of Butthurt Reality vs the hopes/expectations of something much nicer.
