Do we have any JSA fans in the house? Anyone else going to be buying the new Justice Society Of America comic maxiseries, which has its first issue debuting November 29th? I've been looking forward to it for 11 years, since their last series ended with a whimper. I get my books mailed to me monthly, so I haven't even read The New Golden Age or Stargirl: The Lost Children yet, so I can't wait to sit down and read them all in one sitting. I specifically asked my LCS to ship it all after JSA arrives.
Of course I'm also a fan of them throughout the ages. I love the Golden Age team, the Goyer/Johns JSA run is a perennial favourite (though the omniboo kill me, I somehow manage to drop one volume on my face at least once per reread), and I enjoyed most of the series scattered between (not huge on the '91 series though). I have a strange superstition that whenever I have to go into hospital I always take my copy of JSA: Strange Adventures with me. I don't feel comfortable unless it's by my bedside. I don't have to read it, it just has to be there with me.
I also collect them in figure form, and though I'm happy with my team, I do still have a few I haven't got around to picking up over the years from the Mattel DCUC/DCSC lines, due to sheer laziness, though I have all my favourites. We never got the line here, so they've always been expensive, and I get distracted easily by other shinies.
So let's talk about them!
