Rule of movies: guy strung up hanging by chains will always escape by headlocking captor with legs.

The detective's cigarette dangling from his lips is always bent downward.

I have a hard time watching typical Hollywood-made movies anymore. They're so contrived and reality is always manipulated so badly. So tiring. European films (just generally speaking) tend to me far more realistic and without the gimmicks. I used to be against the "Hollywood is dumbing down America" argument but I believe it holds water now. People seem to actually believe real life is like this and it's pretty sad. BTW, I watched Dragged Across Concrete after you'd mentioned it. I thought with that great cast it would be a half decent movie. It may have been one of the worst movies I've ever seen. It was totally C-movie schlock.

People's hands getting short off like in a B movie. Dry, wooden, predictable dialogue. I wasn't dissing your tasted in movies. I was just surprised that a few previously A list actors would make a movie this bad.

No, Hollywood, schools do not test for 'protective instincts' in career aptitude tests wtf. The Blind Side. How would you even test for that? And why? Look i know what you were shooting for-you wanted to show the character had strong protective instincts because it was a plot point. But there were so many ways to get this across to the audience. Making up something dumb is never the way to go. I mean it's always the way you go but it doesn't have to be. Screenwriters: remember, show, don't tell. You told.

The jilted woman always cries on the shoulder of the guy that boots her, and wishes him happiness, and it is a sunset in the background, with a hint of rain to come. Then:
THE END appears, and is the biggest damn letters any human ever experienced on the Screen.
