I'm not sure this forum is geared for, or interested in, such a discussion, but I hear quite a few comments about the overall grading of this pedigree.
Does anyone have thoughts they'd like to share?

Anybody?
Bueller...?
For instance, how does the collection stack up versus Mile High?

There are many instances where the collection demonstrates examples of overgrading.
There are also doubts about the veracity of the background story.
The overgrading can either be explained due to incompetence of the graders OR they are being shifted to fit the narrative of the background story.

That's what a lot of long-time collectors seem to think. It's definitely a pedigree, and very nice books, but the grades seem to be anywhere from 1 to 2 points too high.

There was also the bad publicity from the book with the wrong back cover that CGC completely missed. https://www.reddit.com/r/comicbookcollecting/comments/rf1t6z/i_was_looking_through_heritage_auctions_and_found/ On a major book like this too. I knew 7.5 was the new 9.6 with these books, but this!

I'm really glad to hear others observed this problem as well. There's always been the scuttlebutt (often true) about the easier GA grading curve, but calling VF books NM & NM+ by the hundreds is simply astonishing. I see overgraded AF15s a lot, but mostly in lower grades. Has CGC gotten lax in general, or are pedigree and key books no longer subject to the same standards?

There has always been a slight curve given on Golden Age books but it is usually consistent and I am okay with that. It's kind of like knowing when you buy something from a certain comic dealer that they are consistently overgrading their books by 1.0 or .5 of a grade. Same thing is true in reverse with MyComicShop who are much tougher. The Promise Collection is eyebrow raising though and troubling in many respects.
