Say, isn't namisgr a neuro scientist? I wonder if he was involved in any of this research? #followthescience and see if you can make sense of this article... Alzheimer's Might Not Actually Be a Brain Disease, Expert Says
A new theory suggests it's an autoimmune condition
--------------------------------------------------------------------- In July 2022, Science magazine reported that a key 2006 research paper, published in the prestigious journal Nature, which identified a subtype of brain protein called beta-amyloid as the cause of Alzheimer's, may have been based on fabricated data. One year earlier, in June 2021, the US Food and Drug Administration had approved aducanumab, an antibody-targeting beta-amyloid, as a treatment for Alzheimer's, even though the data supporting its use were incomplete and contradictory. Some physicians believe aducanumab never should have been approved, while others maintain it should be given a chance. With millions of people needing an effective treatment, why are researchers still fumbling in this quest for a cure for what is arguably one of the most important diseases confronting humankind?

Somewhat related.
This video tries to explain how complex the combinations a 52 card deck can create by scaling them to things we know.
Then it goes on to try to illustrate how complex our DNA combinations can be.
You are literally a "once in the universe" combination of DNA.
Fascinating and fun 7 minute watch.

Nature is a good magazine, isn't it? Does anyone know a scientist that can explain this to me? Because, you know, peer review is the 'be all and end all'. You know. Because science. #followthescience #followthefame #followthemoney Authors’ names have ‘astonishing’ influence on peer reviewers
A Nobel prizewinner is six times more likely than someone less well known to get a thumbs-up for acceptance, finds study.

On a side note, one of my kids just got their bachelor's degree in science. Psychology and neuroscience to be exact. With Honours and High Distinction. Is there a scientist in the house? Yes there is.

A monstrously large, 'potentially hazardous' asteroid will zip through Earth's orbit on HalloweenThe asteroid, called 2022 RM4, has an estimated diameter of between 1,083 and 2,428 feet (330 and 740 meters) — just under the height of Dubai's 2,716-foot-tall (828 m) Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world. It will zoom past our planet at around 52,500 mph (84,500 km/h), or roughly 68 times the speed of sound. At its closest approach on Nov. 1, the asteroid will come within about 1.43 million miles (2.3 million kilometers) of Earth, around six times the average distance between Earth and the moon. By cosmic standards, this is a very slender margin.

‘Planet killer’ asteroid spotted hiding in the sun’s glareBy Ashley Strickland, CNN Updated 12:41 PM EDT, Mon October 31, 2022 Astronomers have spotted three near-Earth asteroids that were lurking undetected within the glare of the sun. One of the asteroids is the largest potentially hazardous object posing a risk to Earth to be discovered in the last eight years.

That is exactly why I have told her for 53 years that anything she complains about doesn't matter.
