I have been a lifelong fan of the Porsche marque since I was probably 14 or so. That was 38 years ago.
Truly loved the car.
The philosophy. The engineering. The look.
I was so obsessed I used to dream about them and eventually ended up being a Porsche technician.
But times have changed and they're no longer my marque.
Dr. Porsche once said they'd never build a 4 door car. Now most of their cars are 4 door cars.
They sold out and now chase corporate growth and profit over philosophical integrity.
Integrity is dead because it's not profitable anymore.
The flip side is, that if people took a little short term pain to stand behind their philosophy it would catch on and rebound but life has become a sliding slope of one compromise over another to avoid a little short term pain.
I think at this point is automatically assuming that everyone is going to sell out at some point. The old world is dead.
Has anyone thought about this? Or have any thoughts on it?
