Those posts about his moderation are a direct result of his moderation and they are all valid. maybe attacked is too strong a word but it can feel like an attack when multiple people are criticising you. Not even close to what you experienced agree on that. As for my apology sometimes you get further with a bit of kindness than a confrontation. I think that this is a decisive turn of events on the CGC boards, and I hope more people speak up who have kept silent for the last 2 years. I could name off probably 20 people off the top of my head who disagree with Mike's moderation but I don't want to expose them publicly. It would be really nice if they spoke up rather than stay silent and allowed a small group to dictate board culture by manipulating the moderators to punish anyone they disagree with, which is exactly what has been happening. And I think as people speak up, one by one, more will be emboldened to say something. |

Mike was cornered by several reasonable members and had no choice to concede. But the main point, the root problem, which is moderation's bias has been swept under the rug by throwing everyone a bone. All you did is move back the clock a few months and it won't change until the bias is removed and moderation admits that guys like namisgr and those hitting the notify button are dictating moderation's direction. In fact, what he SHOULD have done is locked the Climate thread for good.  Nothing has changed. |

Mike is the worst moderator ever. He makes and reverses decisions based on what he thinks is the majority opinion because he's worried about losing his job. If three people report someone, that someone gets moderated. And he's completely unaware that he's being manipulated. And he also chooses sides based on personal politics. He's biased. Anyone notice who started the "It's getting warmer" thread? Answer - Mike did. And there's no question what Mike's politics are. That thread should be removed immediately, just like all the other political threads. CGC has made it clear that politics will not be tolerated. Someone should contact CGC about all of this. They made a huge mistake when they hired Mr Dog Poop.

And I'm just going to add that I DON'T dislike Mike.
I actually think he's a good guy in real life.
But he fell into his own trap.
This is what happens when your rules are subjective and not objective.
They keep changing and eventually you will fall necessarily into your own mess and break your own rules.
Logic dictates that.

He erased ALL of my posts from the discussion and didn't even put them in my "your posts removed by moderators" section. They are GONE. So all evidence of Mike's behavior has been removed. |
