This thread is exclusively for pictures of faded books.
If you know the cause, please list it as well. For example, "These books were displayed on the wall without UV protection and received indirect light for several years."

This is from a private FB group. It's obviously just faded, but the guy posting it thinks he has a super rare and valuable printing error. Even funnier, he's turning down offers as high as $750 from the group. This guy was on CBCS a while ago, I'll see if I can find the thread. I remember it because a bunch of them thought it was an Avengers #57

Good lord. By the way, the interior of the cover is black and white on both sides. And here they are: So like I said, faded, not a printing error. The fact that you can still see some of the blue ink on the exterior sides of the cover is a dead giveaway.

...but ending on this note: ”there's a website called recalled comics that shows information about comic books that were recalled and/or with printing errors. I reached out to them. The first email looked like it could go either way, either sun faded or printing error. Sent them pictures of the book and glad to hear it is a printing error. So the OP/owner of the book is still coming away with the idea that he’s got a rarity? Everybody seems to be looking at comic books through pin holes in $100 bills, waiting to cash in.

Everybody seems to be looking at comic books through pin holes in $100 bills, waiting to cash in. Did you read what that guy AJ from RecalledComics.com wrote? So his theory is that the press ran out of not just one color, but two (Yellow & Magenta) at the very same time, and then failed to notice the problem as just a few books went through the entire production process. What's the opposite of Occam's Razor...AJ's toothbrush? Also, he doesn't seem to know how comic books are printed. Blue is clearly present on the book, and since blue is created with both Cyan and Magenta, his statement that Magenta is missing is incorrect. So his entire theory about this book being a printing error is a falsehood. It's a faded book. Actually, the more I think about this book, and how this guy is shopping it around to various ill-informed groups where the subject of how much he's been offered always seems to come up, makes me wonder if this is a scam. I could fade this book on both sides in short order with an inexpensive UV LED light source available at any big box hardware store. The fact that the book is an inexpensive reprint and has B&W interior cover pages (to make it super easy to fade), makes it a perfect choice for a scam like this.

I did read that. I’d think “fading” would be the default answer anytime a cover is missing color, and then you’d try to rule out that possibility before coming up with other scenario’s.
I don’t know AJ. Was he the guy who used to fluster RMA with his posts in Modern on the other forum? I’ve only looked at his site in bits and pieces, but I should probably sift through it to see what all is in there.

I think RMA had issues with inaccuracies on the recalledcomics.com site, but I can't remember what they were. I think you're right about Rare Comics Stu. Didn't that start because Nobel or someone else claimed they had 'discovered' Canadian Price Variants or something? Never mind, I found it... link
