I feel like I'm in crazy world.
The left keeps arguing science first but the science says that children at more risk with the flu than with Covid and schools remain closed.
The science says that it's not easily transmissible outside or on surfaces but outdoor dining is not allowed (we just got ours back last week and people are literally sitting on patios in the winter, surrounded by snow to have dinner or beers)
People keep saying science but what they mean is optics.
We're a year into this with mitigation measures and studies and some places are still treating the pandemic like it's March 2020 instead of March 2021 - a full year later and we're still taking the same measures that were instituted when we knew nothing about the virus.
This is EXACTLY what people were worried about. That the government would make large changes and be slow to retract them.

People keep arguing about excess mortality and lockdown effectiveness but not offering any objective statistics. It's mostly smoke and mirrors.
I posted this on the CGC forum but I'll report is here in case anyone wants to discus it more freely
Here's an interesting article. This article focuses on a comparison of 2 statistics across 32 European countries during the pandemic: Excess mortality GDP performance There's been a lot of criticism about Sweden's approach to the pandemic compared to other countries because they have so many Covid deaths compared to other countries. Sweden's approach was always about a 'total harm minimalization' across all of their society rather than just protecting people from Covid alone. They got a lot of criticism for their response but there are some very interesting statistics emerging. It looks like Sweden has one of the lowest excess mortality numbers out of the 32 European countries studied (23rd out of 32) at 7.6% and ALSO has one of the strongest GDP percentages out of the 32 countries studied (4th out of 32) at only a 2.9% contraction with only 3 countries performing better If I'm spitballing this correctly and the US has about 3MIL deaths a year with about 600,000 excess deaths last year that places their excess deaths at 20% over the previous average, near the top of the European numbers with Liechenstien and Spain in that range. Also, a Google search shows that the US economy GDP contracted at an estimated 3.5% last year compared to Sweden's 2.9% - both countries did much better than most of Europe on this front but Sweden fared better than even the US To me this is fascinating because it gives a very objective way of looking at how well lockdowns work in regards to the economy and overall excess deaths, which probably is a better measure of the general effectiveness of lockdown measures than just focusing on Covid deaths alone, which is all the media in the West is focusing on. To me it highlights the following: Sweden's less restrictive pandemic measures may have been more beneficial for their general public in preventing other causes of death outside of Covid that stricter measures may have increased in highly restrictive countries Sweden's economy didn't fare as poorly as other countries that did much tighter lockdowns Sweden was probably able to achieve this because the culture is so different and they (like most Scandinavian countries) are much less concerned about optics than they are about the actual science If this all holds true it looks like Sweden's approach may have been better at preventing deaths over all across it's country than other comparable countries. Am I doing this correctly? Sweden’s COVID strategy 2020 — A look at the numbers

OK. Everybody stop using laugh thingys, because, well, just stop. Never mind that the laugh thingy has been the favorite tool of 500, bob, randall, the janet guy, banner, uncaben, comicdonna, donut and a few others for constantly replying to Roy, for over a year, and replying with the same emoji, to almost every post Roy made. Now, some of them are offended when experiencing the same treatment... and yes, I have been prolific of late in doing so, with a few others....and? Again, come on over to Ditch's forum, where all are welcome, as Ditch has stated. No worries about incredibly nonsensical moderation here, so nobody has to complain to anybody.

To clarify for GG, nothing I do in the way of replies or emojis is gratuitous. I mean it when I do it, and do so for a reason. I detest lack of honor and hypocrites, and really stupid comments. bob needs to stop playing doctor, in case anybody has not read his posts carefully, and stop paying coding and billing and reporting interpretation specialist which are his added expertise gigs for the last couple of weeks of posts.. So I get a vacation. And? I am not posting anymore there. As long as Admin allows non-honorable and hypocritical moderators as comicdonna and donut, what is the point? Those last few posts of banners are so hypocritical that Hulk's nose is poking through my computer screen.
He went after me on almost every one of my posts over the last year with emoticons so hard that I could probably fill my fridge up with stickers made them but is now calling you a kid for doing it?
I'm surprised nobody will reply or dispute the all mortality data from Sweden when compared to Europe or the US. And they did it voluntarily and without masks. Well, no. I'm not really surprised.

After months and months of we are all gonna die/don't go out/stay away from Neanderthals/this is horrible that States are lifting mask restrictions/etc., the Resident Fauciist (Copyright 2021 All Rights Reserved...that means pay me) on CGC aka bob, brings (HIS) science to the rescue as a solution....allow people inoculated or passing testing to wander freely throughout the land from sea to shining sea, and all they have to do is show their Freedom Inoculation Card, and this will be an incentive for people sitting on the fence about being inoculated to do so, since they will now have a reward/incentive to do so. Never mind that 20% of persons have been inoculated and 80% have not.
Mit Da Kard Mit Da Kard!!!
To bad...wait your turn to go outside, suckers. We are watching you.....
Good Lord, bob, do you not see the illogical logic posit?
Come on over and discuss...please. I beg you....please come over.

I've asked for studies comparing the benefits of lockdown to the cons of lockdown. Nobody has produced one. In fact, 500Club said he's taking a break right after I posted that.
I've posted an article that compared all cause mortality and economic recover in Sweden to the rest of Europe and shows that Sweden is over all fairing better than most countries nobody has a comment on it but it should be front page news. The guy that wrote the article has 100 Twitter followers and it will never see the light of day.
But I'm the stupid one because I disagree with people.
I wish people would be more honest with themselves. I have no problem going out there and wearing my heart on my sleeve and taking my knocks.

On the CGC forum we were talking about law suits in regards to Covid-19 lockdowns my contention is that litigation will challenge all of the lockdown measures we've taken and we'll probably have a better footing of what is and isn't actually legal.
There are a lot of justices, judges and human rights lawyers all agree that there are mass violations of human rights going on.
Probably the most shocking thing to me throughout this past year is how quickly the general public was willing to give up everything with such little resistance.
Another thing I don't understand is how many will support riots and lootings in the name of human rights (and downplay covid infections) but won't support normal people going to work. This sort of logic is just any way you try to slice it.
A quick Google search came up with this site, which has a list of law suits in relation to the pandemic.
I haven't done a fact check but it might make for some interesting reading when I have the time.

Lockdowns have consequences.
THE LONG-TERM IMPACT OF THE COVID-19 UNEMPLOYMENT SHOCK ON LIFE EXPECTANCY AND MORTALITY RATESFrancesco Bianchi Giada Bianchi Dongho Song Working Paper 28304 www.nber.org/papers/w28304NATIONAL BUREAU OF ECONOMIC RESEARCH1050 Massachusetts Avenue Cambridge, MA 02138 December 2020, Revised January 2021 ABSTRACT We adopt a time series approach to investigate the historical relation between unemployment, life expectancy, and mortality rates. We fit Vector-autoregressions for the overall US population and for groups identified based on gender and race. We use our results to assess the long-run effects of the COVID-19 economic recession on mortality and life expectancy. We estimate the size of the COVID-19-related unemployment shock to be between 2 and 5 times larger than the typical unemployment shock, depending on race and gender, resulting in a significant increase in mortality rates and drop in life expectancy. We also predict that the shock will disproportionately affect African-Americans and women, over a short horizon, while the effects for white men will unfold over longer horizons. These figures translate in more than 0.8 million additional deaths over the next 15 years. You hope that's his nose, anyway! It's funny over there for sure. I love all the info that forum has to offer and I've interacted with all those guys over the almost 20 years I've been there...it's like the COVID thread gets us on Lord of the Flies or something.

I am trying to understand the English language: The thread is re-opened now ) 2hours ago)...but it is still locked. English doesn't mean what it used to. The English language post directed at Roy, isn't that the same type of post that moderation states it wants to avoid? If so, why post it? I see that a couple of the snarky posts about the subject of this forum still remain, so must not have been in the hidden category mentioned by moderation. I could be wrong, but I think what Roy posted (which was placed in the hidden category, I guess) was about a PM group, not this forum. English is not what it used to be, because all I understand from the moderation language is CGC sure doesn't like Ditch.

English is not what it used to be, because all I understand from the moderation language is CGC sure doesn't like Ditch. I quoted Hector to explain that there was to 'secret invitations' to our PM group or anywhere else.
cgcmod11 took my post as 'advertising' other forums.
I messaged cgcmod11 to explain that I wasn't advertising other forums and their reply was simply 'anywhere else'
I took that to mean that me saying 'anywhere else' is considered advertising other forums.
It isn't. At least not to a 'reasonable person' understanding which is usually the general rule of thumb that should be used in any situation.
More so, even after the thread is reopened namisgr and Transplant carry on with the snarky but subtle attacks.
At this point nothing makes sense to me anymore.
