That's redickalickulous.
Before CGC screwed it up, people used to be able to grade the low grade. If CGC was a true grading company their lower grades would have the split grades and the +/- grades that the upper grades do. Of course that wouldn't fit into the 10 point system and really, how much money can you make off bottom feeders. Fack em.

This is a message on their site that addresses their sales price.
"Many of our competitors scour our website every day looking for hard-to-find, key issues. When coupons were good at any time, these competing stores would buy them quickly, using discount coupons. Then, they would resell the key issue for a profit on their own website or at a comic book show at its non-discounted price. Regular customers, like you, would have little or no chance at getting these key issues.
But these comic book dealers won't pay the full Overstreet Price for key issues, because their profit would disappear.
Instead, hard-to-find key issues remain available for regular customers like you, since they aren't swept up by comic book dealers to resell."
I guess not only do dealers stay away from paying full Overstreet prices for key issues, they're probably staying away from horribly over graded books.
