I tinkered with colors for a bit, and you're right about having the right balance for the colors to contrast. Excluded red and brown from the start and tried a Purple/Orange/Yellow/Green in descending order and this was the result. (I do like the color purple for the 20K+ as purple often represents royalty and  )  You might as well ask for a unicorn Does someone need a unicorn? I have four. Wouldn't that be a Quadricorn?   |

Normally I wouldn't care much one way or the other and it's certainly not a huge deal so take my following comment as you will but I really don't like that brown color for 5k-10k. It's ugly and boring. Brown is never interesting, unless you're UPS. I asked for input, didn't get anything nearing a consensus, made a decision based on science. I actually like the color. But I'm happy to change it. All you need to do is reach a consensus with everyone else, or at least achieve a majority opinion on the selection. Tell me what you guys come up with.  PS - I DO reserve the right to veto anything that doesn't provide enough contrast. There's no point in having a separate color if it becomes indistinguishable with another. What do you think of the colours in Steve's suggestion? In the interest of achieving a consensus, I would go with those.
As far as the current colours go, I like the purple and loooove the blue. The blue is awesome. I can live with the green although it's a little pastel. I think it's the brown that some of us are not overly fond of. I'd be happy just to replace the brown with something else, although that wouldn't be overly tetradical.
