Description

A complete set of 60 original 1984 trading cards, these full colour Marvel trading cards were made in 1984 and found in pristine condition. Each card depicts iconic first issue covers of popular Marvel comics, including Spider-Man, Fantastic Four, Avengers and X-Men. Less well known comics are also featured like Combat Kelly, Devil Dinosaur, Moon Knight and Alpha Flight.

On the back of the cards is a brief plot synopsis for the first issue comics, as well as the trademark from 1984. Also included in the set is a ‘Marvel Superheroes First Issue Covers Checklist’ card, so you can tick off all the comics.

These little guys can be expensive in grade.

I think they're really cool.

If this was a brand new item, I could easily see myself buying a set for $5-10.

So, on first pass, ~$25 for the original 1984 set doesn't seem incredible. But I'm curious about the extant sets as well. I think my only concern is how easy it would be to counterfeit something like this.

I wouldn't pay more that $20 either, unless it was the uncut sheet.

Same here. I would like to get the 1990 X-Men Covers Series I & II Trading Card Sets but can't seem to find them cheap.

The prices are higher than expected, but I'm really out of the loop when it comes to trading cards. I saw a few sellers have "pre-order" in the description, and one person has "Not yet in hand. Ships within one business day of arrival".

I'm also curious how many of these are out there.
