This is a fun video. Great books...a little beat up and no bags and boards...but still a great set of books. Ask price was $500, he gave him $1,000. You can tell the buyer doesn't know the keys by the way he works through the collection. He's also not very careful. That was a nice pick up for $1k. This was great to watch. I’m still breathing heavy. Lots of cool books in there, lots of photo cover Dells and Gold Keys which are neat and some I’m not familiar with. Not sure if I recall Groovy cartoons from Marvel, either. Don’t know much about Blue Bolt except seeing them offered periodically on the CGC boards, but the BunkyBrothers have that issue up on eBay, theirs listed as a 3.5 and asking $1200. It is an LB Cole cover. edit: I only saw one Archie in there. Was that Betty & Me #1?

I didn't watch the entire video but I didn't see any Archies in any of the parts I saw. The 3 Hawkman #4, multiple copies of early Daredevils/Avengers/FF were nice pickup.

I really like these videos. I find them really interesting. Another collection purchase from Very Gary Comics. He goes over all the numbers. I think he said $1,600 for about three thousand books. At the end of the video he presents the best 30 books, and he's going to sub 15 to CGC and try to get his money back just from the 15. I could be wrong, but the books seem a little faded...odd for their age if true. No bags and boards again, but in pretty good condition. I assume he will press them himself...most just have a little spine roll/stacking curl that needs to be removed.

It is always interesting (to me) to see the sorts of titles other people collect, particularly stuff from GA through the late 80’s. I realize we didn’t see every book, but one thing that struck me considering the number of books was the absence of what I’d consider top tier titles like Avengers, Iron Man, Cap, FF, Daredevil, X-Men*, and DC stuff from Superman, Batman, JLA, Green Lantern, etc. There were one or two in the mix(notably Avengers Annual #10), but it seemed the seller shied away from the bigger titles when he was actively collecting. I know Gary mentioned ASM which made me think someone already picked those from the collection.
It also occurred to me that the seller may not have had access to a comic book store at the time he was buying as he didn’t have anything other than DC/Marvel, or later issues of Moon Knight, Ka-Zar, Micronauts, etc. He did have a Dazzler 1, and also a couple random early 70’s books like the MP 2 and Marvel Feature 1(so who knows?)...
If the fading you saw was from the left hand stack in the second box, I attributed that to lighting in the room as it wasn’t present any other time that I noticed. Looking forward to see what comes back from CGC.
*I think X-Men was likely considered a top title by 1981/82

Lots of great reading but worth nothing. Titles I saw like Moore's Top Ten, Morrison's JLA and Invisibles, etc. And all that MA key build-up was... a letdown for me. I am not a fan of Bone at all but it is pricey. I was guessing Albedo. I do have some of his "grails" tho.
