I have no experience nor affiliation with this forum, but I ran across it and it appears to be functioning as an old-fashioned comic book swap meet. I've always loved the idea, since you avoid all the selling fees and simply trade for something new to read or collect. I don't know what you'd do if you ran across a scammer, or someone who misrepresented their books - but maybe with lower value books, it's worth the risk. I tried to get something similar going on here, but it never caught on. www.facebook.com/groups/292073418649585/about/

I think I tried your Swap thread at the time. I still have the low grade TTA #36 I'd be willing to trade or get credit for towards a book. Looking for early ECs mainly.

It's called Comic Book Swap Shop. But it's a public group, not private. Just click on 'discussion.' I think the only reason you'd need to sign up is if you want to post something.

Why are some pages like that and some aren't? My local restaurant's FB page comes up no problem without signing in. Is it the group that determines this?

That would make sense to me, because pages are mainly for advertising a business. But I'm just guessing.

I think the swap meet is a great idea for someone that has a lot of random stuff on hand. Not just comics, but toys, 7-11 cups, comics journal & fanzines, etc. I would expect this format to work well with action figures.

What I'd love to have happen is to find someone who's willing to trade a single book of value for hundreds of books with little value. But I suppose that's expecting too much.

That would probably only work the other way around. I guess the exception is if someone with an AF #15 8.0 was opening a comic book store and needed loads of start up inventory, then there’s that outside chance...

I am curious to see if Red Hood posts again. It's not a big secret, I humped the button to see what would happen. There were a few old timers that were surprised he was allowed back after being banned especially with the way he behaves. So... I asked if anyone had ever said anything. Apparently the mods knew but had not taken action. So, I humped the button asking how long his abrasive, contentious, and inflammatory posts would be allowed to continue given the recent standards that had been set forth with issuing warnings and strikes for other offenses that were of a similar if not lesser infraction. He hasn't posted since. Some might take issue with it... some will care less... some will applaud it.... Either way... learn to love it.
