My hat's going on on December 1st. Any earlier and Batwoman will call me a hypocrite...
"Oh, so you can have a Santa hat avatar but we can't get the decorations out of the loft until the 1st...? Hmm..."

Just a quick question for you guys over the pond... When do "The Holidays" start? Thanksgiving or in December? Ditch got it right but sometimes people get started before Thanksgiving and put up decorations and some radio stations start playing Christmas songs. I love Christmas as much as anyone but anything Christmas before Thanksgiving is too early for me. Apparently there are many people in my area who celebrate all year because they leave their houses wrapped in Christmas lights.

I see lights on houses that people never take down but they don't turn them on in say, July, because that would be stupid

There's another house that's covered in lights all December but they come down every January.

I'm shocked at how many Christmas trees I see on curbs as late as March. People need to get those time bombs out of the house asap. Terrifying how fast a dry tree catches fire. Pretty much unstoppable once started unless you just happen to be holding an extinguisher.

Unless it's raining- Then it's 4:30. j/k I actually never heard the "bad luck" theory before.

You have to take the decorations down before the end of the 12th day.

Our cutoff is Valentine's Day if the tree is still healthy.

I've seen people putting their tree on the curb for pickup on 12/26. That's some Christmas spirit right there

That's some Christmas spirit right there Anyone with a tree on the kerb the day after Christmas should have their tree-holding licence revoked. I hate the "down on Boxing Day" bah humbuggers. (Boxing Day is 26th and also a public holiday over here). It should be an extension of Christmas Day, where you can either relax after spending the 25th with relatives, or go see the relatives if you spent Christmas Day at home. Christmas is a season, not just one day.

I don't decorate. Everybody already knows it is Christmas, so what is the point? Just gimmee the presents and leave me alone.
