PIF Hunt1) Players post their offers and RAKs (if any) along with shipping information in an offer thread with a poll.
2) Each offer is evaluated on the merits of market value and market desirability, and is accepted by anonymous poll. Only players active in the round may vote in the poll. Acceptance is greater than or equal to 50%. If not accepted, the player has the option to either modify the offer until it IS accepted, or withdraw from the round. Once all offers are accepted, the offer threads are locked by Administration (me).
3) Scavenger Hunt is played over a 1 week period starting on a Sunday. The 1st Place Winner gets to pick one offer, or pass.
If 1st Place Winner picks an offer:4) Winner must post an accepted offer for the next round, and is not allowed to participate in that round (This is the PIF part).
5) The offeror must ship the offer to the winner within one week.
6) The offeror gets to play the next round without submitting an offer. (A big, no-risk benefit).
7) Second Place winner gets to pick a RAK (if any) or pass to the Third Place winner. Third Place winner picks a RAK or passes to the Fourth Place winner, etc.
If 1st Place Winner passes:8) 1st Place Winner gets to play the next round without submitting an offer. (A big benefit of being the 1st Place Winner).
9) Second place winner gets to pick one offer (#4 through #6 applies), or pass to third place winner. If passed, the process repeats until someone picks an offer or everyone passes. Note: #8 only applies to the 1st Place Winner.
10) RAKs (if any) are picked or passed in descending order starting with Second Place winner. A player is not eligible to pick a RAK if they have already chosen an offer.
11) Next round starts. Go to #1.
OtherA round cannot be played with less than 5 players. If a round doesn't generate 5 players, it's up to the remaining players to invite their friends, publicize the game, etc. until the 5 player minimum is met.
RAK (Random Act of Kindness) - a type of offer that doesn't require an offer in return. It's free and does not count as a regular offer. It doesn't require acceptance by anonymous polling.
As usual, I'll recuse myself from the game since I have administrative powers.
Only 'known' members, or vouched members are eligible to play. This means active TCBF members and well-known boardies from other forums. A vouched member is one in which an active TCBF member "vouches for" a new member and agrees to pay their debt if they renege on shipping an offer. A poll may be used to accept/reject new players if necessary.
Any player who reneges on shipping an offer will have their reputation destroyed and will also have their posting privileges removed on TCBF until the debt is paid.
I would encourage you to use the test forum to create your offers so that you can easily copy and paste the information/scans/pics to subsequent offers.
PIFs have a tendency to increase in value over time. Instead of forcing the game to be played in multiple levels with specified ranges ($10-$25, $25-$50, $50-$75, etc.) we'll just let this happen organically and open up a new additional game at a lower suggested price when the players decide it's warranted.
