OCD - Obsessive Compulsive Disorder.
I do repetitive things like check my stove to make sure the burners are off, like several times before I leave my apartment. Other things involve ANY type of inconsistency that changes from the daily norm. I wash my hands a LOT, especially before I touch or handle a comic book, a DVD/Blu-ray case. I also have to turn the key in my lock at least 3 times to make sure my apartment door is secure/locked. I found a couple of gnats flying around yesterday so now I Ziploc every food item/soiled wrapper that goes into my trash can.
It must run in the family because my Mother told me once that when she is driving or a passenger in a car, she has to count the numbers of the driver's license plate in front of her to determine if it is an ODD or EVEN number! Ha, even I do not do that.
Anyone else here have an OCD condition??

I used to have behaviors that I thought was slightly OCD like clearing my throat and then blinking a few times. Funny thing is I was aware I was doing this all the time but I couldn't stop.
Now my problem is I've been searching all over the site for a funny gif someone posted that showed some dude in a tank top walking around with "invisible barrels". I think I've searched like 30 threads now looking for that gif. I certainly hope it was on this site otherwise I'm going to have a difficult time finding it.
If anyone remembers that gif then please help me out and send me a link.

I'm not sure if this counts but I will always go back an check I've locked the front door if I can't remember doing it. Even if that means turning the car round and driving back. Unsurprisingly it's always locked...

Unsurprisingly it's always locked... I've done that but not because of OCD. Sometimes, I do stuff out of habit, really without thinking, and then later I can't remember if I did it or not

I get compulsive about finding unimportant stuff that will pop into my head for no reason. If it's something mildly sentimental,I'll go nuts and not be able to focus until it turns up.I'll dream about it,ransack the house. And the worst part is,I'll get something else on the brain while looking about, say something that's not where I expected it,and it goes on and on.Having the memory loss from the coma, trauma makes it worse.I'm always anxious and fretting and digging around. Did I mention my place is in a constant state of chaos because of this?I'll micro organize, but obsess about something else I'm reminded of and wreck a whole other area. Arg.

I thrive on chaos and the need to attempt control over it.

Part of the reason I've been away was because I couldn't find a certain seven inch record single. Now,I have not counted, but there's about nine hundred to a thousand?Stacked,we are looking at about ten feet high. Most of them are organized, but before I stopped the substance abuse,I did some weird !For whatever reason, the Sonics 'Psycho/The Witch' single on Etiquette records(Canadian) needed to be found.Collectors look at records much like we do at comics, and this is a high grade example, about a 125$ copy.Well,of course I had to look at and listen to a bunch of stuff while searching.Took two days.I was going nuts, and the fact it had no picture sleeve didn't help. But gang...the satisfaction of finding it...ohhhhh MAN!For some reason,I'd thought it was a good idea to put it in with my original Kingsmans Louie Louie,? and the Mysterians,Electric Prunes, early Kinks ect stuff. They are now all in their own category,in a late fifties early sixties era carrying case.A few thousand dollars worth of singles in that box, thank golly I bought the majority of them twentyish years ago, when they were still under ten bucks for the most part! Thanks for hearing me nerd out!

Oh well... I guess I don't have OCD then. I will spend about an hour looking for something and if I can't find it, I'll give up and just accept that it's somewhere in the mess that is my collection. If I really need it (music or book) I'll just find it on the net or rebuy it in an inexpensive format. One day I will sort it out...

I'm convinced the day all my comics, records and music are orgamanized is the day I'll just drop dead.

Anyone else here have an OCD condition??
I am at times, but mostly is useful ways, such as organizing items used at work. I don't suffer so badly that I need every issue of a run, or need my collection 100% direct edition or newsstand or both.

To buy ALL variants is a game for the rich collectors. I don't fall into the rich category. I do prefer direct editions over newsstand when I can get them though its not a deal killer for me.

When I had my Batman subscription running I used to get both the regular and variant cover. Imagine my surprise when I found out there was always more than one variant and the regular/variant duo I was getting was in fact just a thinly disguised Cover A/Cover B combo.
