I can't, it's slabbed. jk Mine says "Bold". C'mon, admit you were just a teensy bit disappointed it didn't say "Bowl". I think there was a 50% chance...but I'm just guessing based on limited sample data. Is the 'Bold' shifted up? Post a pic Stu!

Oh, you're a riot What the hell? It wasn't upside down when I posted it. Total aside: I watched some of The Shining today, forget which channel it was on.

I posted a paraphrased version at CBCS. Let's see if it creates a stir, or if variant cover chasers are too lazy to hunt this.

@organicsquishee kwticknor I was reading GCD and noticed that it stated that The Brave and the Bold #93 has a variant. GCDI had never heard this before, so I searched the internet and found absolutely no information about it. And it doesn't appear that either CGC or CBCS notes the variation on the label. Game on! I discovered examples of both variants (see below). It appears that when the error was caught, the plate was rather crudely modified to correct the error (notice the upward shift in the word 'Bold'). Since there are examples of both variants on eBay in fairly ample quantities, I can't make any inference as to the percentage of each variant in the print run. I fear I have just added a new nightmare for Batman completists. If anyone has any additional information, please post it here; I would love to know more about this issue. Thanks for reading. It's probably going to be too much work for them to chase this since the error isn't on the cover. There is also a Whitman version of that book. I wonder if that one also has the error.

Is there really? I see B&B Whitman starting with #145...but I'll keep looking.
