The only reason I would own a digital comic is if I travel a lot and want to read a classic. Otherwise I'm too addicted to the look, feel, and sometimes smell of a comic in my hand. I don't think I could place the word "collect" with something that can be recreated in an "instant", yet cannot be differentiated from one created last year. This is me.
There's a convenience to digital that comes in handy when travelling. I tried it once and didn't like it. I now just suck it up and take a few TPBs despite the extra weight.
However, there's also the benefit you may find books to read that you'd never see in your life time.

Newb You're probably pickier than I am Newb?! Not even started, I'd say
700+
I only stopped because music turned e.
700+? That's too many. If you said I could have 400 more CDs for free I still don't think I'd reach 700 total

I've been collecting CDs since 1988. I'd been a staunch vinyl only guy until then, however I was trying to get a copy of Anthrax's Spreading the Disease and could only find it on CD. Once played, I was hooked on the clarity and ease of use, and replaced my entire vinyl collection (except the odd bit of crap).
As I've been collecting for 30 years, almost every CD has been played on multiple occasions. Even the crap ones. The dire ones however, maybe just once. Reload took three separate visits to complete. My God, it's awful.

That's how I view the DCM site. There's stuff there that I'd never see or read otherwise.

I still buy CDs because I can't listen to MP3 files on a good stereo. The quality difference between the two formats is obvious, with MP3 causing distortion at the high and low end of the frequency range. Sounds like crap.

The more compressed the MP3 file, the worse the distortion. Cymbals sound terrible. I always use a maximum compression of 192kbps, sometimes 320kbps if I'm feeling generous with space.

That's how I view the DCM site. There's stuff there that I'd never see or read otherwise. What's the DCM site, Steve? Digital Comics Museum. I'm sure I've mentioned it before. Its old books that have fallen into public domain. There's some neat stuff on there from a variety of GA publishers. digitalcomicmuseum.com/

Also the "Chronological DC History" link no longer works. I meant to tell you. Never mind. It seems OK now. I was getting redirected elsewhere a few days ago. Kind of like what happens with GCD every so often.

Thanks, Steve
