I have no idea what the subscription service was like in the UK (if there was one) when I was a kid. I used to order my comic books from the local newsagents who would deliver them with the morning paper.

I love that.
I don't have a comic book room, but if I did those would look fantastic on the wall in a glass frame.
Too bad there's probably no way to tell if the original book matches up with the mailer (like #s matching engine/car).

Here's a subscription envelope from EC Comics. It had an Aces High #3 in it. I bought both of them from the original owner many years ago.

I never subscribed to a DC comic, but the Marvels came in a brown paper wrap. They sometimes came SO banged up on the corners...
