There are sooo many great Python sketches and movie scenes.
Were any of you into Blackadder?

There are sooo many great Python sketches and movie scenes. Were any of you into Blackadder? Oh Hell yeah! I had the 4 seasons on VHS. My favorite incarnation was the WWI Blackadder, especially the episode "Lord Flashheart's Flying Visit". Flasheart: "Treat your plane like you would treat your woman." George : "You mean with love and respect?" Flasheart: "No; Get inside her once or twice a day and take her to Heaven and back."

And Private Bobbi "Bob" Parker; Saucier than a direct hit on a Heinz Factory.

Private Parker: Oh, please sir! Don't report me. I want to see how a War is fought. So badly!
Capt. Blackadder: Well, you've come to the right place; A War hasn't been fought this badly since Olaf, The Hairy, King of the Vikings, ordered 50,000 battle helmets with the horns on the inside.

This made me laugh so hard the first time I watched it. von Richthoven: You English and your sense of humour. During your brief stay I look forward to learning more of your wit, your punning and your amusing jokes about the breaking of the wind. Black Adder: Well, Baldrick’s the expert there. Baldrick: I certainly am, Sir. [von Richthoven laughs.] von Richthoven: How lucky you English are to find the toilet so amusing. For us, it is a mundane and functional item. For you, the basis of an entire culture. [Baldrick laughs, von Richthoven slaps him in the face.]

I'm a big fan of Fawlty towers. That show was awesome.
Also loved Black Books, Father Ted, Red Dwarf, Coupling, Mr. Bean, and a few others I can't recall right now.

I like this thread. Python, Black Adder, Dave Allen... Fabulous.
I'm with you Siggy on Black Adder. IV was my fav too.
I watched Dave Allen on the BBC right up until his last series. He was just as funny (if not funnier) in his later shows. I remember his skit on quitting smoking by rationing how many cigarettes he could have each day... This ended up with "borrowing" from the next day, then the next week, etc... Something that stuck with me through the years
