Even though that's a horribly written article (which seems to be the norm for Bleeding Cool), the subject matter is fascinating.
I think it's amazing that MyComicShop won't be ordering the 29 Marvel Legacy lenticular title covers.
The comments below the article are especially good.

While I'm glad to see there is some resistance by retailers refusing to over order titles just to get the variants I wonder what if any effect this will have on Marvel's bottom line? If Marvel's marketing strategy doesn't work in this particular instance I'd expect they'll still see a small sales spike due to some retailers supporting the program.
I suspect those who speculate on the secondary market are salivating right now if they're in a position to secure copies of these variant covers through their own LCS.

The comments below the article are especially good. This guy is such a fanboy he doesn't even realize what a frigging hypocrite he is "Variant covers per se aren't the problem. I like variants. I buy a lot of the buggers if I think they're a nice piece of artwork and they're worth it. It's these ty threshold variant ordering requirements that are the problem and it looks like retailers are finally taking a stand because it's reached the point where they can't justify such a high amount of extra orders, even for shiny covers like this."

Damn those pesky threshold requirements. You should just be able to buy variants. In slabs. In 9.8. And then sell them two weeks later for fat stacks yo.

I liked the way Archie handled their variants for about three years. Each title had two covers available. Subscribers received cover 'A', and shops received 'A' and/or 'B' in whatever quantities they ordered. By the relaunch in 2015 I think Archie #1 (specifically) had 21 different covers and things have gone downhill ever since.

I remember DrX(he's a member here!) once posted a 9.5 that cgc had made a deal with some company to manufacture?
