2373 I always wanted to belong to a lodge. To be a Moose, Elk, Water Buffalo...any of them.

Part of scrounging around for comics like I do is leaving breadcrumbs here and there. Innumerable times I have asked people selling some comics things like - do you have any more? where are the good ones? when are you selling the good ones? Sometimes there are more and sometimes not, but it gets a dialogue going, and I've met some nice people over the years, just by being friendly. And sometimes they'll say, leave me your name and number and I'll call you when I'm ready. So, I've left my name and number many times over the years in the hopes that doing so could lead to something.
And.......I almost never hear anything back, which is fine, because it's not hard to leave that name and number, and who knows, right? If it worked once it's bound to work again, right? Law of averages. And it has worked, for all the failures, it has worked. And so I persist, as and when I'm feeling it, not always but sometimes, dropping a breadcrumb here and there, because why not?
Which leads me to yesterday, there I am minding my own business and I get a text - would you be interested in buying my brother in law's childhood comic collection? here are some pics - with a link to a little file of pics. What's this? A long forgotten little breadcrumb interaction has borne, not fruit, but the possibility at least. Because included in the pics were two of biggest Bronze Age books going - IH 181 and ASM 129 - plus pics of a couple dozen other comics, Marvels like I prefer, as well as some pics of the old typed out comic box inventory that was done about 20 years ago as far as I can tell.
Now, will I buy this collection or some of it even? Don't know, maybe yes maybe no. Hell, I may not even get to see it beyond the pics and inventory that I've seen so far. But however it works out, for good, bad or indifferent, the thrill of the hunt keeps me dropping those breadcrumbs, because you just never know.

That’s great that someone remembered and got in touch with you! Having not seen the pics myself, I do find it odd that those two would be readily apparent unless it’s someone who’s already familiar with certain titles and their market value.

Having not seen the pics myself, I do find it odd that those two would be readily apparent unless it’s someone who’s already familiar with certain titles and their market value. One of the pics was of an email sent to an online comics buyer and it shows they asked for pics of several of the better books, including the IH 181 and the ASM 129 as well as about two dozen others ASM 2, 121, 122, Hulk 141, Defenders 1, etc. Guess they didn't make a deal cause that email was from January of this year. Maybe the guy wanted more than they were willing to pay, who knows.
