So, after discovering the Superman #50 2nd print newsstand, I also realized that there were other books from this era that were second printed. If Spider-Man #1, Batman #457, and Superman #50 all had second printings of newsstand versions...books that, technically, shouldn't exist at all...I decided to check and see if other books from the era had second print newsstand versions...and I found one! Here's a first print for reference: Here's a first print newsstand: Here's a second print: Note that this book does NOT have the poster, but the "The Adventure Begins" sunburst. Curiously, it ALSO does not have the Roman numeral "II" in the price box! It does, however, have the second printing cover copy, and requisite UPC code. It also says "2nd printing" in the indicia. It seems to be a bit more common than either Bats #457 2nd news or Supes #50 2nd news...still, it's another example of a book that should not exist. Cool, huh? PS. Thanks to Ditch for linking that other auction in the Superman #50 thread. I saw a copy of this very book in that listing, and knew it had to be what it was.

I saw 5 #1s at a local book store, but didn't notice if they were newsstands. They were still in the polybag. Were all printings in bags?

No, none of the Robin #1 mini came polybagged. The Robin II #1-4 mini did, in various flavors.

That's pretty cool. I've passed up so many Robin #1 that I never thought to look for 2nd printings of the book or even noticed the sunburst message on the cover.

So, anyone on the lookout for these books...?
Any others anyone can think of?

So, anyone on the lookout for these books...? Any others anyone can think of? I still haven't returned to our bookstore to check. I did a quick sweep on eBay before realizing, "Wait. I don't care about Robin." But if I see one, I'll get it.

Frankly, discovering these weirdos that should have never been made in the first place has been one of the highlights of my entire scholastic career in comics. If these were coins, I'd be able to put my name on such a discovery and be talked about in print.

No question you should be. I'd be thrilled to have discovered something previously unknown from the SA/BA

On what basis is this book more common than 2nd prints newsstand copies of Bats #457 and Sups #50? I have yet to see any other copies of Robin 1 2nd print newsstands pop up, other than the single copy that you turned up via the link that Ditch posted. I have been spending a ridiculous amount of time, scouring for these 3 books, for over a year....

Hello all, I know this thread is a bit dated. But I happen to pick this particular book up today at an old games and toy store in pristine condition. Wondering if this book is something i should put in my book safe? I'm having a hard time finding the value of this book.
Thanks for all and any info
