I don't know of any. I'm sure there must be something out there... Have you read Viz which is basically the adult version of Beano? Yeah, I had probably read two or three sometime around 2000-2001. I had a store that carried quite a few "import" magazines and they were pretty expensive as I recall. Expensive...? Must be all that quality humour *parps*

I actually live in the US now but partly grew up in the UK and hence growing up with those titles. I remember buying US comics but they were modified slightly, the paper, size etc were different. Didn't know you were in the UK Bats! Ah ha! Now it all makes sense I was wondering why you were talking about UK comics. Yes, some of the UK editions were different. Bigger with different paper. Many had collected stories. I had a lot of these but sadly, no longer. Were you born in the US, then moved to the UK, if I may ask?

Born in the UK and then moved over here about 6 years ago! I also remember the US comics published in the UK would sometimes do 2 pages n colour and 2 pages in black and white. Has anyone here read Tintin by any chance?

Hey steveinthecity, Where was that, that you found those UK comics? Well they out them n bags and treated them much better than in the UK, I don't think there are any shops over there that have a selection of locals comics in good condition (I am speaking for London mainly...although have not been up to date n the comic book shops for a while now)

They had a terrific and eclectic magazine selection. The Tower chain went out of business several years ago.

Ah, gotcha, you're an expat Nice to see you're still putting the U in colour Haven't read Tintin since I was a kid... along with that other French speaking fellow Asterix. Quite entertaining, I seem to remember!

Have you seen the documentary?

First place I ever saw those stations where you could listen to a cd before buying it, too.

We used to have a Tower Records at Piccadilly Circus in London. I remember going in there and finding a CD by a band called Ligament. I'd been trying to find a copy after hearing one of their songs on the radio. I was ecstatic...
...This was in the days before the internet, you understand...
The CD was absolute bollocks (except that one song). Time wasters.

The new model the last decade or so is one good song plus filler. I suppose most of the younger set only buy singles now for their phones or iPods.

Ligament, though... they had no excuse. They were early 90s.

That was the first place I saw "imports" and a British magazine called Kerrang!

One of the best documentaries for anything I've ever seen. HIGHLY recommended!
