Just in case you missed it, yesterday one of the largest Natural gas pipelines in the world (the Nord Stream pipelines) were intentionally blown up, causing one of the largest environmental disasters ever (around 400,000 tonnes of methane) in the Baltic Sea killing marine life and poisoning the atmosphere. And apparently, the US President and administration are believed responsible as both President Biden and his staff members announced this same plan to destroy the pipeline back in January and February of this year (click on the video of him saying it).
So I'm confused. This administration has been banning and restricting fossil fuels and various small lawn mowers, tools etc for two years in states across the US, but then creates one of the worst environmental disasters in the world? Besides an environment disaster, this also may provoke a war with Russia, and it puts millions of families in Europe at risk this winter without natural gas for heating. As a life long historian, this is arguably one of the most careless actions a US president and government has ever committed. What are all your thoughts about this?
