It irritates me when people approach a turnstile to enter the subway and THEN fish around for a metrocard holding everyone up in line. You have that thing out and ready to go as soon as you start walking down into the subway. They must be the offspring of the little old ladies who wait until they get a total from the cashier before taking out their checkbook. That's what I was thinking...and it isn't just old ladies. I use self-checkout to avoid the delays.

Don't check your cell phone to see where you are at the bottom of an escalator...

They're not necessarily faster than the regular check out lines. Also, there's like fifteen places where I can buy bbq chips within three blocks in every direction. I want someone to actually thank me for choosing their store over all the others when I buy crap, even if the comment is perfunctory and insincere.

You know what really irritates me? That sometimes gets me so frustrated, I want to cry?
When I see a problem, and I know what's wrong, but I can't express it in a way that makes it absolutely crystal clear for all but the willfully ignorant.
I can tell you that something is wrong...I just can't tell you precisely why it's wrong.
That grinds me into dust.

I intuitively know something is wrong but have a hard time justifying my concerns... usually because some pencil-pusher hasn't written it into policy.
