Sorry,Straight Edge Hard Core.Musical genre. Straight Edge
An X was drawn on the back of the hand to signify one was SE. That came from the time when clubs would allow minors in and drew an X on the back of their hand to show they couldn't buy beer. The SErs took it up as a symbol.

Anything with John Malkovich is not "fun" Con Air is a fun movie! Bad. Ass.

It's one of those "don't pick it apart, just go with it and enjoy" movies. Like Sucker Punch.

I always laughed when I saw Straight Edge kids at the Murphy's Law shows. Do they not know that Todd smokes a bong while playing? That there's a quarter barrel on stage?

There was a Straight Edger who used to go to every metal or hardcore gig in London. He probably still does. No matter what the band, or what their recreational activities may have been, he was there flying the X. You know what we used to call him...?

It's one of those "don't pick it apart, just go with it and enjoy" movies. Like Sucker Punch. One time when I was on business travel, we had a very long ride from the Seoul airport to the hotel we were staying in. I was traveling with a couple other guys and a translator, and we were supposed to have a meeting in the limo on the way there. But then the translator said the driver asked if we wanted to see a movie. We asked which one, and he just put it on. It played on an LCD screen. It turned out to be Con Air. None of us had seen it, I think it was still playing in the states. It was awesome. We got to the hotel and unfortunately, there was still another 15-20 minutes of movie left. We all really wanted to see how it ended. I had to wait until the DVD came out (or it was played on cable somewhere) to see how it ended. Really entertaining movie.

All this talk about Con Air has got me thinking about that time when I went on a binge-watching of multiple cheesy action movies, and you know what...? Commando triumphs them all. Nothing says manly or badass like Schwarzenegger shouldering a humongous tree log through the forest with one hand and a f-ing chainsaw on the other, while that James Horner score blasts in the background. Eat your heart out, Rambo.

Maybe you guys can help me...? The first time I watched Predator, I swear I saw Billy getting his spine ripped out on the log bridge? Anyone else seen that cut or did I just imagine it?

No I hadn't seen that one. Reminds me of the version of Aliens where they set up the remote guns in the one room and talk about Ripley's daughter

No I hadn't seen that one. Reminds me of the version of Aliens where they set up the remote guns in the one room and talk about Ripley's daughter I was watching a bootleg VHS, supposedly recorded in a cinema. The sound and picture were really crappy. Maybe I dreamt it.
