Okay! I have the TCBF Comic Book Store completed and all loaded up with goodies. It looks and works great...I think you'll really like it. I need to run some errands. When I get back I'll fill you in on how this phase of the game will work and then I'll make the store available so you can get started if you feel like it. Just keep earning money so you can buy stuff. I should be back in a couple of hours.

This game will have many phases. The annual winner will be the person who has the most valuable comic collection at the end of the year. Phase One of this game will be to earn enough to acquire the first comic book collection in it's entirety, book by book. This is mandatory before moving on to Phase Two. But just like in the real world, you need to take care of your books. So the first thing you need to buy is a short box to put them in. And when you buy a book, you will also need to buy a set of bags and boards for it. Everything here is double bagged because we're serious collectors who don't mess around.

The Phase One collection will consist of Amazing Spider-Man #1-30. These are 'reader' books.
Everyone is different, but my idea of a 'reader' book is one that is in good enough shape not to worry about - so no brittle pages, pieces about ready to fall off, giant split spines that you have to be careful with, etc. In addition, the book has to be entirely complete with no missing pieces. The book must also be solidly and tightly bound - no loose covers or center pages. I also don't like tape, even small pieces, so I avoid those if possible. So this translates into an Overstreet 2.0 with the additional criteria mentioned.
I can usually find 'readers' like these in 2.0, but sometimes because of demand I have to go a little higher to a 3.0 or sometimes even a 4.0. The books in the TCBF Store are all 'real world' books, with careful attention to condition and price. Wherever possible, I've used an image of the actual book. If the condition of the book looks higher than 2.0, it is noted.
In later phases of this game, we will be using various techniques like pressing and dry cleaning to improve the grade of books. We will also be using the grading companies to improve the value (since graded books command a premium price). Obviously, most of the time we will be using books in the higher grades for this procedure. But grading companies are notoriously loose in the lower grades, so many times they will come in a grade or two higher. So, depending on what you like to do, and whether it would have much financial impact, you may choose to submit some of these 'reader' books for grading/encapsulation later in the game.

You can collect the Phase One books any way that you want, but I will make icons available to keep our profiles and mini-profiles clean and tidy.
There will be icons for:
1-30 (The full collection) 1-10 11-20 21-30
This will be accomplished through a trade. You trade the books for an icon.

The TCBF Store is now open for business! To use the store, just click on the store icon in the game bar (lower left of your screen). You can start buying up comics at any time now. Make sure you have enough money in your wallet for whatever you are buying - you may need to transfer money from your savings account. Again, start by buying a short box and a set of bags and boards for your first book. Additional books will require more bags and boards. To see how the process works, if you can't afford a book yet you can buy a stick of gum for a quarter. Oh, I almost forgot. The store allows returns at any time, but the refund percentage is 50%. This is done on purpose because I'm encouraging you to sell and trade books with other members when you have duplicates. You may have duplicates because we will have contests and give-aways that will use books as prizes (as well as cash).

I just visited the TCBF store and bought some supplies and a really cool ASM30. Check out my profile and mini-profile to see how it looks.

If you hover the cursor over an item in the mini-profile, you get a brief description of the item.
If you click on an item in the full profile, you get all the details of the item.
