A) Rank Up Bonus - My bad. I meant to disable this until we had a chance to discuss it. Curmy ranked up when he crossed the 100 post threshold. The bonus was set at $500. I'll remove that later, but we need to figure out what the bonus amount should be. So I'm gonna lose my bonus? It is just like real life! It appears that we have one vote for the rank up bonus being $50 and no votes against it. So I've set that amount to automatically be awarded with every rank up. We can revisit this if anyone wants. In the meantime, I've deposited $50 into your bank account. I wouldn't forget you Curmy.  |

I wanted to make sure that this game is realistic, so I'm looking up recent sales to make sure the store prices are as accurate as possible.
Two things are extremely obvious from this exercise:
1) The CGC to CBCS premium is real. On high demand books, they are roughly equivalent. But on low demand books, CGC receives a rather stunning premium over CBCS...much more than when CBCS first opened its doors for business.
2) Never, ever, EVER try to sell a low demand book at auction on eBay! If you do, you'll get killed. The days of the eBay auction are over. It's so bad that I can't even look at auction prices because they skew the data so badly. This trend started a few years ago, but it's gone from bad to completely unacceptable. This is partly due to the hobby focus on keys and 'hot books of the moment', but it's also because of poor management at eBay (that's code for 'they suck').

I'm at about 1500- just a guess. for question two...no idea.I did one trade last year,Hero for Hire #1 8.0 for an Avengers 4 3.0....I think I got the better deal,but does that count? I never sell books... I don't know GPA value, but I'd prolly rather have the Avengers book over Hero For Hire #1. It'd be a tough call. That black cover in 8.0? It must have been nice. |
