This game is designed to be fun and educational, as well as to help sharpen your grading skills with respect to CGC and CBCS.
This game is also anonymous. Why? Well, for a variety of reasons, some people are a little shy when it comes to grading. Either they are still developing their grading skills, or they have seen others get jumped on when grading in public. The anonymous nature of this game allows everyone to participate, not just the grading experts.
Let's state the obvious right up front. You cannot grade a book from scans - the book needs to be 'in hand' and inspected thoroughly inside and out. But, as experienced graders know, you can discern a lot about a book's maximum possible grade from good scans. And unless you are one of those collectors who only cares about the number affixed to the plastic case, many of us rely on good scans when buying graded comics. Good scans can reinforce the grade, or give pause to question it; they can give insight into pathways for grade improvement techniques; etc.
