For US coins, you're going to want this:  For Canadian coins, this:  That's a start. Those are retail prices, but they're not terribly far off from market prices. |

Also, take a rando picture of a handful, and I can give you a starting idea. Make sure the dates are visible.  |

To start, what are they? Canadian, US, other?  Remember a few years back when you helped me value my small silver dollar collection?  Now I just need to find a stamp expert to dash my dreams and I'll be set.  Stamps are the worst. You ain't kidding, my grandpa left me a big ol' stamp collection and I sold some on Ebay. What a pain. This was 15 years ago, so it was easier to sell non-Bin items on eBay back then. I just did what Noobs do, posted giant scans and used the old "...but seriously, these were left to me by my grandpa and I have no idea" line. |

I collected when I was a kid. I have mint, mint plate block and used collections. Domestic and foreign. I looked at values a few years ago on some of the forums, and it's pretty awful. |

I too have tons of stamps from my grandfather. Pretty much worthless. Why couldn't he have collected coins?  |

The only ones to retain any value are the most famous ones, like the penny black, and the inverted jenny. Too bad your grandfather didn't collect comics. |

I collected stamps as a kid and used to get those monthly "proofs" from a few companies. I enjoyed the hours spent looking and organizing all the little images. I recall aside from the US, I enjoyed stamps from Hungary, India, and San Marino in particular. I had an "Ambassador" album was was quite proud of it at the time.

My bother-in-law is a professional philatelist. He's made a fortune from stamps and has some very interesting stories... (which I can't repeat).
