I saw that book but I'm not a fan of the cover artist. If I had known Biz had done that art I would have definitely picked up a copy myself. The variant copy looks pretty bad ass but no way am I going to pay what they're asking for a new book. I like Conner's art... I guess her art works with some characters but I don't know about Lobo. That happy, warm and fuzzy art doesn't work for Lobo...maybe it does for the New52 version though.

When I was little my big brother would let me tag along when he went to the local store on Saturday mornings; they had a comic rack there. I'd sit in the front seat of his Ford Thunderbird as we drove down A1A to the 520 Causeway that connected Cocoa Beach to the mainland. The top was down, the sky was blue, and I was hangin' out with my big brother - life was good. He'd buy me a comic at the store, only one - so I would pick out a 25 center - hey, I was little but I wasn't dumb. This was right before I discovered Marvel Comics, so I'd usually pick out a DC, or a Charlton war comic. I loved the DC 80-Page Giants. Lots'a reading for 25¢. Most of those ended up disappearing with a babysitter a couple years later. So I was happy to pick these up this week off Comic Connect at what I think was a fair price. I'm 8 years old again, ridin' in a red Thunderbird under the Florida sun.

I'll be going to the Brass City Show in Waterbury on 4/30. Never been to that show I never even heard of that one. I checked it, looks kinda small. Well, none of the CT shows are all that big. Maybe the Mohegan one but even that can't hold a candle to the bigger city shows. Waterbury is pretty close to me so it's no big deal to check it out.

If I lived closer I'd definitely go but I'm an hour and a half away.

I've been thinking about modifying my collecting approach and saving up for bigger keys. For instance, I once had a 7.0 copy of House of Secrets 92 and sold it. I've always wanted a higher grade copy. Maybe modify your focus to reach a goal, but overall I find it impossible. I want that Sad Sack or Little Lulu as much as an EC War or somesuch. My collecting "focus" sucks. That's prolly why I live with mid-grade. I don't fret about reading them either. A F or VF copy of a 40-50+ year old book is awesome to me. I don't want a book I'm afraid to handle. A 1983 book in a 9.8 slab is one thing, but othèrwise...
