There were certainly comedic moments, but what a dumb show overall. Maybe that was it's charm? I'm a Green Acres guy, so I should probably keep mum.

Green Acres is hilarious...at least to me. It's over-the-top silly. Arnold the talking pig cracks me up.

What's the connection between Gilligan's Island and Batman? Doesn't look like anyone is going to get this so...

As a kid, I probably watched (in reruns) every episode of Gilligan's Island. Back in those days, the channels that used to be independents showed a lot of the 60s shows. Loved watching gilligan, Brady Bunch, Get Smart, Bewitched, Hogan's Heroes, Addam's Family, The Munsters, Wild, Wild West, and of course all the cartoons.
Hogan's Heroes is a particular favorite of mine. It seemed to straddle nicely the line between silly and serious

It's very difficult for me to watch now. Ate it up as a kid, but aside from [some of] the obvious attempts at looking silly ("Sometimes you just can't get rid of a bomb!"), I can't get into them.

Watched it with the family and it was good entertainment. But as I got older and into a more serious Batman, I stopped liking the on-screen shenanigans. Still, it did give us the line "Holy cucumbers, Batman!"

Umm... no I've never seen Gilligan's Island. I guess it was one of those shows that wasn't rerun over here. The first season of the show, the Professor and Mary Ann were referred to as "the rest" in the theme song...here: This is the second season, when they got intro credits: So, whenever someone says "...and everyone else", I always think of poor Professor and Mary Ann. That was really weird. The videos here were different, and when I tried to edit it, I got the forgery thing again. Weird!

The shows on my local channel were:
Brady Bunch (I think more than anything else.) Gilligan's Island Bewitched I Dream of Jeannie Addams Family (not as much) Munsters (not as much) Hogan's Heroes (not as much) Partridge Family (which I didn't like, because I thought it was a discount Brady Bunch.)

Living in the developing country that I do, we only had 3 channels when I was a kid. We'd get reruns of US shows such as Star Trek, Forbidden Planet and Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea (I swear Kowalski died in every episode). All good stuff! Star Trek is timeless.

Still, it did give us the line "Holy cucumbers, Batman!" When I was a kid, I took them at face value. I would get really worried if the Joker had Batman and Robin tied up above a giant boiling hot bowl of soup. Later in life, I realized they were designed to be 'campy.' 'Campy' has never been all that funny to me, so they lost some value. But because of the impact they had on me as a kid, and for sheer nostalgia, I still love to watch them. Plus, the theme song and the Batmobile are awesome.
