I still love making mixed tapes of my rare UK punk singles.. I started doing similar things with MiniDisc when it first came out. A very convenient medium for editing. Shame it wasn't popular.

From CD. You could link them up to turntables but I didn't have one by that point. The recording worked best via an optical cable.

I bought cassingles. Freely admit it.
Then again, I remember having enough $ leftover from my paper route (yes, really!) after buying that damned E.T. game for the Atari 2600 to get some music - a 45RPM of Foreigner's "Cold As Ice".
Dating the hell out of myself here...

I have the entire interview with John Densmore from The Doors when he was on a radio talk show years ago on a BASF cassette. I actually got to ask him a question, and received a signed copy of his book (sort of an autobiography +) for my effort.
I still have it & will never let it go. I will be burned with that book after I die (Viking funeral).
