Interesting. Kind of like a fast food restaurant only selling Coke or Pepsi? Can't think of a better analogy.

Yeah, same deal. I guess from ReedPOP's standpoint, they must have calculated that the wad of dough they got from CGC more than offsets any loss in attendance. From CGC's standpoint... ...well, there's only one reason why they would do this. They're losing market share. Not a bright move in my opinion. This just makes them look weak and defensive. They would be better off making expenditures which improve their product and service. Better yet, use the money to hire someone who can actually run a business.

I forgot to mention I received a Hulk 182 I purchased. It's a recently slabbed CGC (post creep). I wasn't concerned about the Newton rings since it would be cracked out. Just thought I'd mention that the rings didn't distract me away from the cover- They weren't blaring like so many images I've seen. They are certainly there when held just so, but not enough to cause nausea. Personally, I wouldn't want my collection looking this way if I kept everything slabbed. I am going to have to research cracking this out. It looks like a - My 180,181 are still in slabs because, if I sell, they're obvious fodder and I probably have the "story" in 2 or 3 reprints, so I may just leave it as is. Now that I've seen one, I may have another reason to avoid new CGC's. CBCS slabs are a piece of cake to crack.

Have fun Yeah, it looks like they'll be needed. The book is secure, no questions there.

Interesting that the CFP thread about the guy and his Dark Knight bad press was removed.

You know what else is interesting? For years and years and years, people were told "we can't do a Qualified Sig Series, because the Sig Series is ALREADY a Qualified grade." And people...people not connected to CGC, even...would sit there and argue about why it was impossible to do a QSS, endlessly. It just wasn't possible, and I heard company people spout that line, too. It wasn't possible, it didn't make any sense, it just wasn't possible. ...until it was: Every time....every time...I hear someone say "this can't be done", I always think of the first page of Groo #1 from Pacific Comics. If you've not red it, I would encourage you to do so...it's a great example of what can happen when people learn to say "why not...?"

What cover is that? I've never seen it....is it a mail away or dealer incentive or something?

...And what's a "stroy"...? You. Have GOT. To be kidding. How many of these have they graded? I bet every single one of them is wrong. Sigh.

See the Jim Lee sig in the title? That's what makes it Qualified. It's an unwitnessed sig, so it gets a green label. But the Campbell sig IS witnessed...so it gets the yellow lable. Combined? Grellow! That's the 14th "puzzle chromium" cover, that was only available in the boxed sets. The kicker is, almost every single one of them was signed, and then put in the boxes. Finding an unsigned copy is very, very difficult. I thought about...and even attempted...to remove the signatures on one, but I was too chicken, and just let it go. With the new "Grellow", I can even have the unwitnessed sig removed later by CCS, and still keep the SS designation.
