I had some bland soup earlier, but I have a bowl of ho-made chocolate pudding in the fridge for later! (To the Brits - pudding as in like a custard, not the generic term for dessert y'all use.) "Pudding" is a course, not a type of dessert.

While I was out with my family today we decided about 12:45 that it was time to eat something. So as we were on our way to the farm I was looking for a place that I can't get in Texas. Eventually we pulled off somewhere and began to wander through back roads looking for that right place. Suddenly my sister spots a chinese food and I said "Yes!" This place had a sign that read "CHINESE FOOD". We ordered orange chicken, Gen Tso's chicken, some dumplings, vegetable lo mein, and of course fried rice. Now, I'm not normally a lo mein eater, but there lo mein was very delicious, and the dumplings were very yummy. The chicken and the rice were okay, but the real jewels of the meal were the lo mein and the dumplings. I highly recommend this hole-in-the-wall Chinese food.

Some of the best Chinese food I've had has been from the more low end type of place. Some of the worst, too. It's worth wading through the bad ones to find the good ones.

When my wife and I bought our house, we got lots of suggestions as to the "best" chinese place in town. We tried a bunch of them but finally settled on one place that very few people listed as being very good, and it's excellent. Sometimes you just have to try stuff and not listen to people.

Just got my hairs cut and picked up a nice frozen supreme pizza to cook for lunch. Also bought a couple of those cheap berry pastry pies (2 for $1) - I've been eating these as a treat since I was a kid when I'd go grocery shopping with my mom.

I love those too, but they are terribad for you. Fat, cholesterol, and sodium. So delicious though... apple is my fave, but any of them are good. Every now and then I see the chocolate filled ones and almost break.

I can imagine the layers of sugar glaze flaking off the crust as I type this...

When I worked at KFC 32 years ago I used to eat these all the time. They were so tasty but the ingredient list is ridiculous. Between those and all the original recipe skin I used to eat, I'm convinced that working there took 5 years off my life span.
