Farro salad with octopus, cherry tomatoes, and walnuts. Pretty good. Never had it before. Never tried octopus. Any good? Yeah, it had a light, soft texture that absorbed some of the vinaigrette flavor. Different than Calamari that I've had. Small flat slices that contrasted a bit with the grainier texture of the farro.

I see a lot of octopus in my travels..jarred,in the Italian shops butcher and deli counter...dried squid...I like fried squid in black bean sauce, but eating for me is a big texture thing...

Farro's a grain like barley or rice. Somewhat soft, but a great complement to salads where something like rice wouldn't work. I've had good and not so good squid, but this wasn't squid, it's octopus. Different flavor and texture. I'm trying to think of something to compare it to without going to "like bits of very tender chicken" or something. Try a squid paella if you get an opportunity. Made with the ink. De-lish.

Never had octopus and the only squid I've had is calamari, which I love. If you're going to eat it, you have to find a place that serves the whole little squids not just the rings

I had to get some myself. A 2oz. bag won't kill me. Sorry, but I don't know how to convert ounces into shillings or stones or however you folks measure out your food and dry goods.
