Jimmers! How about a challenge? Me eating a plate of peas vs you eating a plate of mushrooms... via Skype. Winner gets bragging rights.

Should be around a buck. The sauce is so sweet, even salt and pepper mcan ruin the taste. One of those things I just leave alone. But,whit bread and margerine on the side goes well. I haven't heard anyone say "margarine" in years It's all low fat spreads with polyunsaturates these days. How about Oleo?

About a bazillion years ago I heard a Suzanne Somers interview where she said when she earned enough money her family would never eat margarine, only butter. For some reason I've stuck to that as well. I think of this every time I shop for butter. Not bazooms or anything fun. Go figure.

It's better for the system (or it's been said). It just tastes better!

I had a friend that I ate dinner with occasionally, his parents hated each other, & his mom was super passive-aggressive. She'd make fresh biscuits or yeast rolls, but would put the stick of butter in the freezer before dinner. One cold ...

Sorry guys, I was supposed to post this a few days ago, but my short term memory has really been slipping and my short term memory has really been slipping. We cooked it in a crock pot on low for 10 hours and got tender, cut with a fork goodness THE PROCESS FOR MAKING YOUR OWN CORNED BEEF IS QUITE SIMPLE. HERE IS AN EASY 5-DAY METHOD.
1/3 CUP KOSHER OR FINE SEA SALT 1 1/2 TABLESPOONS GRANULATED SUGAR 1 QUART WATER 1 BAY LEAF 1 TO 2 TEASPOONS FRESHLY GROUND BLACK PEPPER 2 GARLIC CLOVES, MINCED 2 TEASPOONS PICKLING SPICE 4 TO 5 POUNDS BEEF BRISKET
MAKE THE BRINE MIXTURE BY DISSOLVING THE SALT AND SUGAR IN WATER, THEN STIR IN THE SPICES. PLACE THE BEEF BRISKET IN A LARGE PLASTIC FOOD STORAGE BAG AND POUR IN THE BRINE. PLACE THE SEALED BAG IN A BOWL IN CASE IT LEAKS. REFRIGERATE FOR 5 DAYS, TURNING THE BAG OVER ONCE A DAY TO KEEP THE BEEF EVENLY SOAKED.
AFTER 5 DAYS, REMOVE THE BEEF FROM THE BAG AND PAT DRY BEFORE COOKING.
