Spectacular Spider-Man #64 has been reholdered by CGC. Newton's Rings all but gone. I have to say after the initial denials, once they decided they were going to fix it, CGC were very good about everything. The book is back with me now and looking how it should be. Of course it still has Newton Rings, but in line with what all the new design cases have. It's a design flaw, I'm surprised it hasn't been fixed after all these years since the old cases also have Newton Rings, perhaps to a lesser extent.
I have to say the new cases look a lot nicer than the old ones, the plastic is a lot clearer so the comic pops out more. If you put them side by side you can clearly see that the old holder has a smokey tinge that kind of cloaks the comic.
Oh, and MyComicShop gave me the worst customer service ever over this. Denied the problem, then engaged in a long argumentative email exchange about how they're not to blame for anything ever and customers are such a PITA. The kind of customer service that might have worked in the 80s but won't get you far in today's competetive online environment.
Anyhow, plan to put this up on my wall and finally enjoy it now!
