Latest Beato.
This is timely. He discusses Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight" going viral on a YouTube reaction video. The song then hit #2 on iTunes on Tuesday! Amazing.
He also discusses YES because he interviewed Jon Anderson recently. Evidently, kids all know "Roundabout" now because of Jojo's Bizarre Adventure (which unfortunately I haven't seen yet).
I found videos for both below.

The Beato vid was interesting, but mostly served to fuel my ire against artists or their agents that block original recordings. The twins video actually gave me a new appreciation of that song. I really enjoy “reaction” vids and trying to look at/hear stuff through the eyes of someone who wasn’t exposed to it growing up. Also, are they the youngest looking 22-year olds ever?
I didn’t watch the Roundabout vid. I think I’ll listen to “Shoot High, Aim Low” and call it a day as far as Yes is concerned.

Yeah, Beato discusses how much it would cost to get the kind of advertising that would put a 39 year old song back up to #2, and it's probably not even possible. Blocking doesn't make sense. Reminds me of when Fats Domino and Tony Bennet made a comeback because the youngsters saw something and liked it. Some of the reaction videos are awesome...I really enjoy them. Some are staged, so you have to keep an eye on it. And yes, those guys look really young.

I found videos for both below. Wow, this is kind of weird. I'm in the other TV room listening to the digital music channel and Roundabout comes on. 9 year old Evan comes in and says "I know this song". In my mind I say no effing way and because of Ditch I knew to ask if he knew it from Jojo's Bizarre Adventures and he says no! He says it's a musical meme on YouTube - he called it the "to be continued" song. I guess in some videos they have a cliffhanger ending where something bad's going to happen and then it says to be continued and then they play Roundabout. He couldn't really explain it much better. I was weirded out

Upon further review I see that what Evan knows is apparently a parody of the ending of Jojo's BA. So same thing but different

The timing of that whole thing would blow my mind. This video explains it.

There's 276 snippets in that link What are the odds of this happening? What are the chances Roundabout comes on? What are the chances I like Yes? I tell the kids they need to tell me about stuff like this so I can be the cool dad.

I found videos for both below. I also discovered that I'm behind the times on Reaction videos. I was talking to Yo about what Beato was saying and how reaction videos were popularizing old songs. She said she had been watching some and her favorite was two AA brothers. I showed her Ditch's link above and she "yeah that's them" more weirdness.
