Never heard of Steven Lynch. Gonna’ have to check out some of his comedy/stage act. Oh no? I thought I'd posted some of his songs before. Yo and I love him, we saw him twice in concert. I can make some recommendations. His career lately has been in the toilet tho. I saw you talking about bowlers My dad was big into bowling when we were kids. He did roll one 300 game years ago. My parents were in a league when I was little. I have some early memories of hanging around the bowling alley at night and not understanding anything...especially the scoring projectors.

Didn't really know about Pablo Cruise, either, but that was certainly a familiar song. As a kid going into record shops I recall constantly seeing that logo and the “World’s Away” album. Nice to finally connect a name with that song. Like the Doobie Brothers, they were really big in the Bay Area, less so elsewhere. They did have several hits that made the charts. Very underrated musicians.

I was just the opposite, I learned, I was one of the few kids that could keep score of a game. Computers scoring is much better nowadays. We were lucky that the bowling alley was 1/2 arcade too. I remember the first time I saw Dragon's Lair was at the bowling alley.

We also had Candlepin and Duckpin bowling, you guys ever try those? We have a saying in New England: there's 3 things certain in life; death, taxes, and no one will ever bowl a perfect 300 Candlepin game

I don't think it ever made it out here to the West. In Japan they have these little tiny bowling alleys with just one or two lanes and a bar. I think you call up first and make a reservation.

Sounds like Nixon in the White House. Also reminds me of a famous cottage around here where Presidents (one sitting) would come to hang out and bowl. They had an alley built in the carriage house in 1846 and it's claimed that it's the oldest surviving indoor bowling lane in the US.
