Really disappointed to hear that. I find it hard to believe the rock genre itself has fallen out of favor, but maybe within it's demographic those folks have switched off terrestrial radio? What are these bajillions of people in the cars doing during a commute? Are they all on phone conversations or listening to podcasts? I always liked the spontaneity of radio, particularly the talk format, and that's something I can rarely find today outside of sports or the odd thing here or there on NPR.

That's quite some change! And this is the second god damn time this has happened! In 2014 my Hartford rock station WCCC had the same thing happen, after 40 years of rock they changed to Christian. Some may know CCC as the station where Howard Stern got his start (and WAAF is where Opie & Anthony got their start. Satellite radio is to blame I'm sure.

Sorry about that fella. Sounds like it was a great station. I hope you find something to replace it.

Sorry about that fella. Sounds like it was a great station. I hope you find something to replace it. Even my pirate station 87.9 has been playing crap. This is probably the best station around now: www.wnlc.com/I also have about 800 songs on shuffle on my Tidal app.

Is it like a multi deck CD player with a random function...?

But then again I'm the sort of person who wouldn't watch The Batman, even if it were the best movie ever, purely because it stars Robert Pattinson in the titular role.

So WCCC's last song was "Walk" by Pantera. Anyone want to guess what WAAF's last song was? It was from the year the station started (1970), it's metal, and it's a perfect middle finger to the Christians.

Any of you Prog rockers like Kyuss? They get a little hippie for me sometimes but still have some killer grooves. This was Josh's band before Queens of the Stone Age.

I liked them around the "Wretch" period. I think it was at a '93 show they spent more time noodling and less time bludgeoning, and my interest waned.
